5 Top Tips to Get Ready for a Doctor's Visit

Doctor's visits can be really overwhelming, especially when you have an ongoing illness. πŸ€’
The whole process can be quite intimidating -- I call it the Medical merry-go-round.
You see one doctor, who refers you to a specialist, who orders lab tests, and then medications.
You get a side effect and then you get another medication.
You get the idea. I have walked on both sides of the street as a pharmacist for over 40 years and as a patient.
I get you.
Here are my top 5 tips to help you get ready for a doctor's visit:
1. About a week before, start making a list of topics that you want to discuss. πŸ“
2. Prepare your medication list (use the attached form). πŸ’Š
3. Plan ahead to ask your doctor if all of your medications are still needed or need to be adjusted. ❓
4. The day before: prioritize the list of questions/topics so that you get their immediate attention with your most significant concern. 1️⃣
5. Remember that your doctor is a person and can easily be impacted by having to give bad news to the patient before you. Be cordial and even though they work for you, be understanding and kind. πŸ‘©πŸ½β€βš•οΈπŸ§‘πŸ½β€βš•οΈ

Well, that's it. I hope you have a great visit.
